Type two diabetes food List

Type two diabetic issues food are really no different from the foods that non-diabetics consume. The primary difference between diabetic issues patients and non-diabetics is not in the food they eat but in the quantities they eat them. Diabetics must become very aware of how food affect their blood glucose levels levels and must strategy their food and snacks accordingly. Perhaps the most comprehensive diabetic food record has been prepared by the United states Diabetes Organization in conjunction with the United states Dietetic Organization. This list of food is known as the diabetic return diet plan program. The return diet plan program provides diabetic issues patients with a list of food that have been allocated to one of six foods groups. Diabetics then use these foods list to build recipes and foods that are best suited to their own preferences, way of life and caloric needs.

The return diet plan program provides a diabetic food record that consists of six different categories:

1) Bakery and Starches

2) Fruits

3) Vegetables

4) Dairy

5) Various meats and Various meats Substitutes

6) Fats

The groups determine food in the following manner (each food is allocated a value of 1 exchange):

Breads and Starchy food - 1/2 of a 3-inch bagel, 1 slice breads (4-inch square), 1/2 cup prepared cereal, 1/2 cup maize or 1 method maize on the cob, 6 saltine biscuits or three 2-1/2-inch rectangle graham biscuits, 1 little (2-inch square) dinner roll, 1/2 cup prepared legumes (such as renal, pinto, dried beans, girl beans, white, or navy), 1/2 of an English muffin, 1/2 cup prepared natural beans, 1/2 of a burger or hot dog bun, 1/2 cup prepared lima legumes, 1/2 cup prepared pasta, 1/2 of a 6-inch piece of pita breads, 1/2 cup crushed potatoes or a 3-inch cooked potato, 1/3 cup prepared grain, 2 grain desserts.

Fruits - 1 method (3-inch) apple, 1 little (5-inch) bananas or 1/2 of a 9-inch bananas, 17 little or 12 huge grapes (any kind), 1 kiwi fruit, 1 cup sliced melon (cantaloupe, honeydew, etc.), 1 little (3-inch) orange, 1 method (3-inch) peach, 1/2 of a huge (4 1/2-inch) pear, 1/2 cup processed blueberry, 2 little apples, 2 Tbs. Raisins, 1-1/4 cup whole strawberries, 1-1/4 cup melon.

Vegetables - ½ cup prepared or 1 cup fresh Asparagus, Green or wax legumes, Beets, Spinach, Cabbage, Green beans, Cauliflower, Oatmeal, Collard veggies, Cucumber, Eggplant, Peas, Him, Mixed fresh vegetables, Mushrooms, Greens, Onions, Pea pods, Peppers, Radishes, Greens veggies, Summer crush, Tomatoes (fresh or canned), Turnips, Zucchini crush.

Dairy - 1 cup skimmed, 1-percent, or 2-percent use products, 1 cup nonfat plain or sugar-free yogurt, 1/3 cup dry nonfat use products, 1 cup skimmed or low-fat buttermilk.

Meat and Various meats Replacements - 1/4 cup processed tuna or trout, 1 ounces chicken without epidermis, 1 huge egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute, 1 ounces fish, 1 ounces lean beef or chicken, 1/4 cup low-fat cottage type milk products products, One 1-inch dice or 1 ounces low-fat solid milk products products, 1/2 cup tofu, 1 ounces turkey without epidermis.

Fats - 1/8 of a method grape, 1 Tbs. frequent lotion milk products products or 2 Tbs. low-fat lotion milk products products, 1 tsp. frequent marg. or 2 tsp. low-fat marg., 1 tsp. frequent mayo or 1 Tbs. low-fat mayo, 6 almond or cashew nuts, 10 nuts, or 4 pecan sections, 1 tsp. oil, such as safflower, canola, maize, or olive, 2 tsp. peanut butter, 1 Tbs. frequent lettuce wearing or 2 Tbs. low-fat lettuce wearing.
